The Texas Association of Real Estate Brokers (TAREB) annual conference focuses on membership development and community engagement. As a State governing body of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers’ (NAREB), we strongly support their primary focus to provide opportunities for all citizens to have the right to equal housing. TAREB is planning their 2023 conference that will allow members and attendees many opportunities and the necessary tools needed to increase and sustain a profitable business by educating and empowering them for success well into the future.

TAREB continues to work hard through its six (6) local boards in Austin, Dallas, Ft Worth, Houston, San Antonio, and North Texas to support local organizations and fight for consumer property rights with the state. To support our mission, TAREB will hold their 66th annual conference June 14-17, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. The conference theme is: “Taking a New Direction to Reach New Heights”.

Black Americans incurred over a Billion Dollar loss of equity/wealth and drastic reductions in their rate of homeownership because of the combined impact of the subprime debacle, predatory lending practices, and the foreclosure crisis. Now, any gains made since are in jeopardy as we turn the corner from the nationwide pandemic, into inflation and a looming recession. In response to this dilemma, TAREB, commits to integrating NAREB’s national strategy to strengthen and grow a strategic collaboration of real estate, financial services, policy, advocacy, and other stakeholders that will focus on improving economic inclusion for Blacks in Texas through homeownership and other financial economic empowerment vehicles. Homeownership remains the number one wealth building vehicle for Black families.

In addition to the Scholarships we award annually to our youth, this year we are excited to add to our conference agenda the recognition of the top 20 Black Real Estate Professionals in Texas. As we aim to engage the Fort Worth area the finale event will be a Community Wealth building day extravaganza happening on Juneteenth!
